Unfortunately this year the numbers entered were not quite enough to warrent a good show, therefore after a long discussion and looking at all options, we had to make the decission to cancel the 2018 edition of the International Welsh Show Hamaland.

We want to thank all that entered and supported us with their sponsoring and hope we will be able to have another edition of the show in 2019.

Any paid entry fee will be returned within the next two weeks, and our Sponsors will be contacted in person to discuss if they want their money returned or carried over to the next edition.

We as Committee are sad we had to make this decission, but we would not have been anle to hold a Show to a standard which we want it to be in.

International Welsh Show Hamaland 2018

Another year has come and also another schedule for this show had to be made. After three successfull editions,  we feel the show has earned its place on the showing agenda. When we as friends and breeders of Welsh ponies decided to give it a go and organise a show in the border region between Holland and Germany, we never expected the success we had with the first edition. With 125 ponies entered and a staggering 180 starts on the day, the show grew to one of the biggest independent shows on the European Mainland in its first year. With entries coming from Germany, Belgium, Great Britain and Holland it truly became an international event. For the 2016 version we received entries from Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Great Britain and Holland, again making it a more international event. 2017 saw a new Venue and a last minute change of judges, but turned out a huge success. We are happy to be able to return to Vragender this year and have our show again at this Top location.

At the International Welsh Show Hamaland we have, besides breeding classes in Hand for Welsh ponies of all sections and for Part-Breds, a number of performance classes both ridden and in harness. Also we encourage the showing of Geldings, Veterans and hold a special championship for the youngest members of the Welsh pony world, a Mini Championship. New for this year are the ridden classes for the British native breeds , together with NRPS and DRP. We have been asked to add some classes for them to our show, so we did and hope we will get good entries. To turn this show into a day to remember for all involved, we as International Welsh Show Hamaland Group hope all competitors of last year, and a lot of new people will find their way to our show and enter their ponies in one of our classes. We have invited 3 experienced judges, who will be introduced to you a little further on in the schedule. Thank you in advance, regards, International Welsh Show Hamaland Group
